Work on remote area partially accessible by helicopter, requiring an autonomous power supply of 48Vdc by solar panels with storage unit for the operation of the controller. Time frame was on a restricted schedule to limit the \u00aboff-air\u00bb. periods. Night and day work is therefore required. Installation of beaconing systems on transmission towers (AM) requires special skills in order to avoid creating and electric arc when the tower is energized. No element installed on the ground must be in direct contact with the tower itself: electric cable, metal or aluminium box or any other material. Specialized equipment such as matching coils must be installed to replace the Austin rings. Excellent grounding of the equipment installed on the floor is essential. It must be done using strips of copper of predetermine width, welded with silver and coated with tar to curb theft.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<h3>Telecommunication Tower Beaconing<\/h3><h5>Lac La Tr\u00e8ve, QC<\/h5>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>Tower beacon upgrade as part of a national tower light modernisation program. Since the paint that forms the successive sections of red and white of the tower (which acted as daytime marking) is no longer conforms, the beacon configuration has changed from A2 (red light at nigh only) to E2 (white light during day \/ red light at night). All elements from the original beacon system (electrical, cables, electrical cables ties, headlight brackets, headlights controller, photocell) have been removed from the tower in a safe and controlled manner to be replaced by new components, installed in accordance with manufacturer&#8217;s requirements and client&#8217;s standards. Under optimal conditions, such an installation in a tower of about 135 meters can be completed in a single day.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bxbservicesdebalisage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/photo-projet-balisage-tour-telecom-lac-la-treve-bxb.jpg\" alt=\"photo-projet-balisage-tour-telecom-lac-la-treve-bxb\" title=\"photo-projet-balisage-tour-telecom-lac-la-treve-bxb\" itemprop=\"image\"  \/>\n\t\t\t<h3>Beaconing System Repair<\/h3><h5>Broadcasting Tower of 1067 ft. TVO | Paris Ayr, ON<\/h5>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>After a complete inspection of the beaconing system, the client mandated us to carry out the necessary repairs in order to preserve the existing system for a few additional years. Electrical junction boxes in the tower have been rebuilt and\/or replaced. The high intensity flashheads have been put back into operation. Capacitors, contactors, transformers and xenon tubes have been changed. We also replaced the headlight located at the top of the batwing antenna. Reception, sorting and assembly of the metal frames that make up the tower sections. The vertical assembly of these sections was carried out using a crane. We previously installed antennas and radios on the ground before the last section was hoisted to the top. Then we installed the DC power cables, the optical fibers, the microwave antenna and carried out the alignment of the antennas. We also did the grounding and preparation of the ground and foundations.
